Living a Contemporary Catholic Life of Faith, Hope and Love A time for us to reflect on where we have been, where we are and where we are going. Facilitated by Rev. Dr Richard Leonard SJ 15th - 17th March at Sacred Heart Church, 50 Fairway Dr, Clear Island Waters 4226. There will be morning sessions at 9:30 - 10:45am and evening sessions at 7:00 - 8:15pm. Monday 15th March: Going out to the world: we need all the help we can get One of the richest things Catholics take the world is our tradition. Some people think Catholic Tradition is a static bloc of doctrines that must be imparted to our young. By looking at Mary, the Mother of Jesus we will see how our tradition is rich and responsive to the needs of today. Tuesday 16th March: Nine steps to making better choices for my life On the strongest elements within the Catholic tradition is the process of discerning the promptings of God in my daily life. How can we practically apply the best of our Christian spirituality to the choices we make at home, work and the wider community? Wednesday 17th March: Where the Hell is God? Holding to Faith through the Tough Times Our faith in God is easier when everything is going well. But what about the times in our lives when it is challenged, undermined and threatened by the things that happen to us, or those we love? This critical session will help out words around how we can hold to a God who walks with us in the “valley of tears”? Rev Dr Richard Leonard SJ will also preside over the weekend masses at Sacred Heart for the 13th and 14th of March. All are welcome, but bookings are required. For...

On Sunday the 19th of July we enjoyed the celebration of Fr Warren's 50th Anniversary of Ordination. The Mass was a wonderfully spiritual and joyful experience for all present. It was very uplifting, particularly with the old favourites being sung like Faith of Our Fathers and We stand for God. Congratulations Fr Warren on your 50th year of Priesthood! ‘May God’s Goodness And Kindness Be With You On This Special Day And All The Days Of Your Life.’ Psalm 23: 6
Anyone with underlying health issues are still encouraged to stay home for their own protection. Anyone feeling unwell, including a slight fever/temperature, sore throat, cold or cough, is not to enter the church, church office or any church buildings. After nearly a month of carefully reintroducing Masses back into our parish after a long time of restrictions, it would now seem opportune to begin offering Sunday Masses in all three churches in our parish. To this end, commencing on Saturday August 1st the following mass schedule will operate while the present restrictions are in place. Additional to these Sunday Masses we will continue to celebrate Mass at Sacred Heart each weekday at 9am. You will be informed by the parish website or E-Newsletter when this situation changes. With the added masses you are still required to make bookings for each mass using the booking site (via the button above), maintaining a social-distance of 1.5metres, receiving Holy Communion in the hand only and refraining from physical contact when offering the Sign of Peace. Please know that Masses are now open to all age groups but certainly stay at home if you are feeling even slightly unwell. The Archbishop has continued to exempt everyone from the obligation to attend Sunday mass during restrictions, so please consider booking for ANY of the masses of the week. The best places to stay in contact with the Parish are by checking this website, following our Facebook page, and reading Fr Paul Kelly’s blog. Please note - only people who have booked will be able to enter the church. Book here.
